Guillermo Acosta es Doctor en Ingeniería y Ciencia de Materiales graduado de la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, con más de 16 años de experiencia en nanotecnología. Actualmente funge como gerente técnico y de aplicaciones para Nanoqem en México, formando parte de la organización desde 2013 hasta la actualidad, encargándose de desarrollar las aplicaciones necesarias para acelerar la implementación de nanomateriales.
Su experiencia previa incluye labores en el Centro de Investigación en Materiales Avanzados, sede del Laboratorio Nacional de Nanotecnología y parte de las instituciones coordinadas por el CONACYT. En este organismo se dedicó a coordinar el trabajo de plataformas de producción y laboratorios de síntesis nanométrica de compuestos varios, dentro de la Incubadora de Nanotecnología de Nuevo León.
Previo a estos roles centrados en la investigación científica y desarrollo tecnológico, Guillermo se graduó de la Licenciatura en Física por parte de la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, especializándose en la misma academia dentro de los campos de metalurgia e ingeniería de materiales, con lo cual adquirió el título de Maestro, y estudiando el desarrollo de polímeros con capacidades germicidas con base en el uso de nanopartículas de plata como parte de su tesis para obtener el grado doctoral en Ciencia e Ingeniería en Materiales.
